Bhutan is a country of dramatic landscapes and seasonal beauty, and choosing the right time for the Fly Out-Fly In Bhutan Short Tour greatly enhances the experience. The best seasons to visit Bhutan are spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). During these months, the weather is generally clear, the skies are bright, and the mountains are highly visible, making flights into Paro particularly breathtaking. The lush valleys are adorned with blooming flowers in spring, while autumn brings vibrant festival celebrations and crisp mountain air.
Winter (December to February) is cold, particularly in the higher valleys, and some mountain passes may be covered in snow, although the skies are usually clear, offering panoramic views of the Himalayas. Summer (June to August) coincides with the monsoon, which brings heavy rains and occasional landslides, making it less ideal for travelers who want smooth flights and uninterrupted sightseeing. However, the monsoon season does have its charm, with lush green landscapes and fewer tourists, offering a more secluded experience.
Seasonal Recommendations:
By choosing the right season, travelers ensure a visually stunning and comfortable journey, allowing them to fully enjoy Bhutan’s mystical charm and cultural richness.
The Fly Out-Fly In Bhutan Short Tour is designed to be moderate in difficulty, making it suitable for most travelers, including those with limited trekking experience. Most of the sightseeing involves walking through monasteries, dzongs, and village paths rather than strenuous hikes. The short trekking in Paro Valley and light nature walks provide an immersive experience of the Himalayan landscape without requiring extensive physical effort. For travelers seeking more adventure, there are optional hikes like the Tiger’s Nest Monastery trek, which requires moderate stamina and is well-supported with rest stops and scenic viewpoints.
Transportation is one of the key highlights of this tour. Flights from Kathmandu to Paro are not only time-efficient but also offer spectacular views of the Himalayan range, including peaks like Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu on clear days. Within Bhutan, travelers are transported via comfortable private vehicles with skilled drivers familiar with mountain roads. This ensures safety, convenience, and flexibility, allowing travelers to explore at a relaxed pace while enjoying the stunning landscapes along the way.
Tour Transportation & Difficulty Highlights:
The tour strikes a perfect balance between comfort, convenience, and adventure, making it ideal for those seeking Bhutan’s highlights without the rigors of long treks or challenging terrain.

Fly onboard Druk Air to Paro, Bhutan. On a clear day the panoramic views of the Himalaya are sensational, including Everest (if you are flying from Delhi and Kathmandu), but particularly exciting is the approach through the Bhutanese foothills and the landing, including a few steep turns to land at the tiny airstrip of Paro. In Paro you will be received by your Bhutanese guide and transferred to your hotel.
In the morning hike to Taktsang Monastery. Taktsang meaning “Tiger’s Nest”, is built around a cave in which Guru Rimpoche (also known as Guru Padmasambhava) meditated. The eighth century monastery is perched on a rock overlooking a sheer drop and clings seemingly impossible to a cliff of rock at 9678 feet above the valley floor.
For the local people it is a place of pilgrimage, but for a tourist, a hike up to the viewpoint opposite the monastery is exhausting, thrilling and mystical. It takes almost 2 hours to walk up at an average pace. The legend has it that Guru Rimpoche is said to have flown to the site of the monastery on the back of a tigress from Tibet and meditated in the cave there for three months. Although the main building of the temple was destroyed by fire on April 1998, the hike up to the viewpoint is worthwhile and fulfilling. And Visit Archery Sport; O/N
