An early morning scenic flight takes you from Kathmandu to Lukla, the famous gateway to the Everest region. This thrilling 35-minute flight offers stunning Himalayan views and a landing on one of the world’s most dramatic runways. Upon arrival, the trek begins with a gentle descent to the village of Phakding. The trail winds through pine forests and along the Dudh Koshi River, crossing charming suspension bridges and passing small Sherpa settlements. After about 4 hours of trekking, you’ll reach Phakding, where you’ll check into a luxury lodge. Enjoy the peaceful river sounds and prepare for tomorrow’s climb.
Leaving Phakding behind, today’s trail gradually ascends through rhododendron forests and crosses several suspension bridges, including the iconic Hillary Bridge.
